The country is currently in a civil war that was started 3 years ago when the true heir to the throne was discovered to be living in exile in Galideeria. The country quickly split with the northern and eastern portions of the country siding with the true heir and the western and southern portions aligning with the current Bishop.
Once a unified and prosperous kingdom, Calvinnia now stands divided—its once-golden fields and mountain citadels scarred by a bitter civil war that fractured the realm into two opposing powers: the Crownlands of Calvinnia and the Oracles of Bamori.
To the northeast lies the Crownlands, loyal to the royal bloodline of House Valcaryn. From the capital city of Gateway, Prince Davian Vindoclad rules with measured authority, seeking to restore peace and reunite the kingdom under the monarchy’s banner. The Crownlands believe in tradition, nobility, and order maintained through law and lineage. Though weakened by years of war, they retain powerful allies among knights, merchant guilds, and border duchies that still remember the golden age of united Calvinnia.
To the southwest rises the Oracles of Bamori, a fervent theocracy born of a popular uprising led by the Temple of the Magnate. Its leaders, called the Divine Monarchs, claim divine revelation through visions from the divine, asserting that the royal family’s decadence caused the gods to withdraw their favor. Centered in the city of Dungraves—a temple-port fortress built within a volcanic caldera—the Oracles govern through divine law, religious zeal, and powerful clergy who wield holy magic said to be channeled from the Bamori himself.
The two factions could not be more different. The Crownlands champion secular governance and a return to stability, while the Oracles seek spiritual rebirth and purgation of corruption through fire and faith. Skirmishes along the fractured border are frequent, though both sides hesitate to launch a full-scale assault for fear of annihilating what remains of Calvinnia’s legacy.
Despite the division, both realms maintain cautious diplomatic ties with neighboring countries, who watch the conflict closely—some quietly supplying aid to one side, others hoping to broker a fragile peace. Rumors persist of hidden factions working from within to reunite the land, but in a nation where loyalty is torn between crown and creed, trust is rare and hope is costly.
Calvinnia remains a land of beauty and sorrow—rich with history, torn by ideology, and haunted by the dream of a kingdom once whole.
